Love this book, had it for my class.
This is a complete guide. Some 1040 pages of content and another 75 in appendix answering the chapter questions and written labs. Very helpful to me and I haven't read a tech book in 10 years.

Some other people have complained that this book doesnt go in depth enough and that you should just read this specifications instead. I think that is obviously a very unhelpful idea, seeing as its very hard to know where to start when learning about a topic as complex as this.
I can confidently say that this is the place to start! This book is well written, holds your hand through a lot of the topics without being too dry, and at the end you will know the basics about all aspects of the technology, and you should have a clear path forward from there on how to get deeper understanding on the parts you need. Definitely start with this book, and move on to specs later only if you need to
Just what i needed but the pictures are not the best, far and few, but the info is great.
Arrived on time, really pristine for a used book, had all the sections I needed, and was waaay cheaper than the modified one that was being offered for the course I took. Also, the book is really great quality and a simpler read than other astronomy textbooks, so if you're looking for someplace to start with, I would start here!

This book is an good introduction to NR standard, but it does not go any deeper than simple understanding. If you read the spec, you may learn more than the book.
This is an excellent text for elementary teacher of Literacy. Strategies are explained clearly and simple enough for novice teachers. Examples are provided which provides additional support. I have also tailored the strategy for use with secondary students as well. Strategies are student centered and reflect best practices in the subject area.
A plus for me is the step-by-step approach provided that makes for a quick read. Readers are provided with a rationale for each strategy and When to use! Strategies are also presented in alphabetical order-allows for quick search. A must have. This is my third purchase! Teachers would find it useful for the content areas as well.

This was a very clear and interesting read. I actually skipped ahead in the class and finished it quick. It put a lot in perspective for me. I have used some of the strategies in my life already and seen an improvement.
I just passed the CISSP and found that this book did the most in preparing me. Everyone is different with various backgrounds so I cannot speak to what others say, but in terms of speaking from my experience I would say this book moderately prepared me for the test. I read every chapter and did all of the exercises at the end of each chapter. I also used the official practice tests book and activated the online Wiley questions from that book. In addition, I read the Syngress book "11th Hour CISSP 3rd edition", though it is getting out of date, hopefully they update it because it is a really solid reference book. I took notes, writing stuff down helps. Studied for 5 months and did no cramming. If I can pass it, then I know you guys/gals can pass it. Just do the work and do the time. The reason I typed all of this was because the most open reviews really helped me in purchasing the write materials to help me pass along with coworkers who also passed.
This is a top-notch resource for CISSP exam preparation. It helped me pass the CISSP on my first attempt. Each chapter has a summary review and questions. Read this book front to back and you will pass the test.

A really good and well-illustrated book.
I purchased the book along with the CBK in order to prep for the exam, It took about a month and half to read the book cover to cover and retain as much information as needed for each domain followed by a month of review and periodic practice test and successfully passed the exam. It provides very insightful and easy to follow narrative covering all areas and helped me better grasp concepts that I struggled with or was unfamiliar with prior to starting my exam prep. The knowledge checks at the end of each chapter helped me accurately gauge my proficiency topics and domains and where to focus my study efforts.
The two major reasons that I gave this book a 4/5 rather than a 5/5 were because of the amount of misprint/typo's in the knowledge checks, not sure if this is the fault of the publisher or the QA process but a fair number of questions had the wrong answer marked as correct or the right answer was not an option at all.
The other reason is that this book does not cover all terminology introduced with the latest iteration of the CISSP exam, the first example that comes to mind is the book lacks any reference to the term "Data Steward", this term pops up in other practice exams and specifically for me I saw it during the actual exam but there is no mention of it in this edition of the book.
I would recommend this book as an essential tool to anyone who is looking to pass the CISSP exam!
It is a great book on counseling techniques. So glad i bought it instead ofvrenting it for the semester.
The code of ethics can be applied to anywhere and the way the authors use both humor and scientific resources makes it worth keeping.
